4 big & 5 small

Ski sport regions of international standing

The four big ski regions:

Together with five small areas they offer 88 wonderful ski runs, where you can cruise during your holiday. This way you do not only get the chance to experience regions of international standing such as Diavolezza, Corvatsch, Corviglia and Pizzet Zuoz.

The five small regions:

Smaller perls, nestling beautifully in the countryside idyll of the Engadine, create unforgettable sportive holidays: Languard in Pontresina offers optimal beginners pistes, just as Provulèr in Celerina, Cristins in Silvaplana, Müsella in La Punt and Bügls in S-chanf.

And even more ski pleasures: a bit more sportive conditions on Survih in Samedan and Aela in Maloja. Stress-free family days can be spent on the home mountain of  Zuoz, where the wide hills invite to relaxed carving. Incidentally the chair lift is one of two in the High Engadine that have a special child safety device are therefore extra-safe.

Tipps for the 4 big ski regions

In the snow-spoilt Engadine

Diavolezza at 2.973 Meter above sea level is an area which takes your  breath away. The eternal ice of the Bernina massif soars above the beautiful glacier tongue and the walls of ice seem within one's grasp. A versatile network of pistes presents itself in front of the sunny backdrop hills which invites to be visited from the middle of October to the end of March. Tipp: The probably, with 10 km longest, secured glacier run in Switzerland is right there on Diavolezza. In 45 amazing minutes you get down to Morteratsch.

The experience starts with the gondola ride. First you  drive in 7-minute-speed from Surley to the middle station in a large capacity gondola only to catch the connecting lift to the highest mountain station of the Eastern Alps: At 3.303 meter you dive into an unforgettable panoramic world. After taking a few minutes time to enjoy the magnificent views, you start to take over the first-class ski area. The 9 km long royal downhill run takes you via Hahnensee to St. Moritz. Tipp: At Corvatsch you have the chance to swing down the longest illuminated nightskiing run of Switzerland!

From the peak of Piz Nair, at 3.057 meter, you have an overwhelming view into the surrounding mountain world. With good reason this skiing area is one of the most outstanding downhill regions with runs of 100 km in World-Cup quality. Those who like it slow and relaxed will use the 3 km long Chill-Out-Riding-Piste Paradiso. Tipp: There is also one of the best Snow Parks in Europe with 30 obstacles. Never mind which of the various options you choose on the home mountain of St. Moritz and Celerina - you will soon understand why Corviglia is one of the most famous ski sport arenas in the world.

The  Pizzet with 2.465 meter hight is the peak of the home mountain of Zuoz. One can enjoy for hours the wide, beautifully prepared pistes and amazing views over the delightful valley. It is an area that is perfect also for families, beginners and occasional skiiers. It is a great pleasure to ski and snowboard on the wide runs totally free of hectic and stress. Tipp: A special experience is the Funslope Gian Plaiv, which combines Snowpark, Race piste and Cross run as an autonomous area.
